Housebuilder Allison Homes East has welcomed Georgina McCrae to the team as Planning Director, to help its growth across the region.

Georgina McCrae joins the company with over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry.

After graduating with a degree in Geography from Newcastle University, Georgina began her career at housing association Home Group, and then joined the Galliford Try graduate scheme. She then moved to work at Vistry in various planning roles, progressing from Graduate to Head of Planning, before joining Allison Homes East.

Georgina, based in Lincolnshire, said: “Throughout my career, I’ve loved seeing vibrant communities become established on sites I’ve taken through the planning process. Watching them progress from a concept on paper to a place to live and enjoy, successfully integrating with the wider existing settlement, is something I’m very proud of.”

Over her career, Georgina has gained significant knowledge of working with local planning authorities, local communities and wider stakeholders within Allison Homes East’s area of operation.

Georgina added: “I’ve acquired experience of collaborating with all business disciplines to develop and implement successful planning strategies for both small and large-scale residential developments. I’ve also learnt to lead a team to dynamically tackle the challenges of the planning system, and I’m looking forward to bringing these skills to my new role at Allison Homes East.”

Glyn Mabey, Managing Director at Allison Homes East, said: “It’s an honour to welcome Georgina to the Allison Homes East team. Georgina is joining us with invaluable skills and experiences that will help us to grow our business and strengthen our brand across the East region, and I wish her the best of luck in her new role.”

Outside of work, Georgina is training to run the virtual London Marathon in April, raising money and awareness of motor neurone disease in memory of her former boss and mentor. She also enjoys paddle boarding in the summer and snowboarding in the winter, as well as walking her border terrier Archie.
