On Friday 22nd September 2023, Lovell hosted its first charity ball, raising £24,114.24 to be equally shared between Big C and Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

Held at Caistor Hall, the event brought together 350 people, featured Darren Eadie as host, a three-course meal from Brasted’s, a charity auction and entertainment from Electric Strings that Rock and Agent Orange.

Simon Medler, managing director for Lovell, said: “Our first charity ball was a triumph and I would like to thank all of our guests who attended and donated so generously to help us raise money for Big C and Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity, who play such a vital role in supporting people in the region. A lot of work went into organising the event, so a big thank you to the Lovell team for their hard work.

I would also like to thank our main sponsors: Lovell, Bateman Groundworks, Link Construction, CJB Scaffolding, and Taylor Maxwell, as well as everybody who supported a table and/or an auction prize.”

Jo Leah, head of fundraising for Big C, said:  “Thank you to Lovell and everyone who supported the ball for raising such an amazing amount from such a wonderful evening.  We were absolutely thrilled that Lovell has partnered with Big C as part of our ‘In Good Company’ initiative, which allows us to work closely with businesses to provide muti-level support for employees affected by cancer”.

Hugo Stevenson, Head of Fundraising and Communications for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity, said:“The Charity is incredibly grateful to Simon Medler and the excellent team at Lovell for organising such a brilliant event and to the sponsors and attendees for raising such a tremendous total for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity and Big C. Having welcomed the first patients at the newly opened Priscilla Bacon Lodge, these funds will help the Charity to deliver services which enhance the experience of patients and their loved ones. These include a comprehensive bereavement service, enhanced catering and future additional services will include art and music therapy.”
