Rachael Morey appointed as Senior Planning Manager at land promoter and property developer Jaynic

Jaynic has appointed Chartered Town Planner Rachael Morey as Senior Planning Manager to support the company in obtaining planning permissions for its growing commercial and residential land bank in East Anglia and in other UK locations.

Previously, she was Planning Manager at Barratt David Wilson and Bloor Homes. Prior to this she was a planning consultant at Savills.

Morey will be working alongside Andrew Anderson and Paul Sutton within the Land Promotion Team and will advise on planning matters for residential and commercial sites across the operating area.

Morey, said: “Jaynic is a highly regarded land promoter in the Eastern Region. After three years focussing solely on the residential sector, I am looking forward to the challenge of working with Jaynic on its mixed commercial and residential sites to broaden my experience.”

Jaynic director, Andrew Anderson, said: “We welcome Rachael, with all the experience she has gained on both the developer and consultancy side, who arrives at a very busy period ahead of us where we currently have six sites where we are promoting through the planning system opportunities that could provide 2.9 million sq ft of commercial space and 2,500 housing units.”

Morey’s role will include appraising sites from a planning perspective, managing consultancy teams both through the local plan promotion process as well as taking project lead and managing the planning application process through to determination.

Jaynic’s land promotion agreements include:

  • 270-acres at Rougham Hill on the south-eastern side of Bury St Edmunds for a residential-led mixed use scheme.
  • 25-acres at Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds, being promoted for employment uses.
  • 130-acres at Barton Mills on the A11 being promoted for employment uses
  • 69-acres at Barretts Lane, Needham Market being promoted for residential development.
  • A 41 acre prime site west of Cambridge on the A14 Boxworth junction, to the south of Cambridge Service being promoted for B2 and B8 employment uses.
