Norwich based partnership homes developer Lovell is celebrating the achievements of its employees, with its commercial team receiving not one but two recent promotions.

Kelly Starkings from Norwich has been promoted to Managing Quantity Surveyor, whilst Darren Evans, also from Norwich, has been promoted to Quantity Surveyor.

Previously working as a senior quantity surveyor, Kelly joined Lovell in 2018 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with previous experience in the industry. Her role involves working on a variety of mixed-tenure schemes across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Darren joined Lovell back in 2014 as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor following the completion of his mathematics degree at the University of East Anglia. After completing his training scheme, Darren was then promoted to Assistant Quantity Surveyor in 2017, making this his second promotion since joining Lovell.

Darren said: “Lovell is an excellent employer and invests lots into its employees. My graduate training scheme has allowed me to have an overall understanding of the construction industry, which has proved extremely useful in my role. The support and friendliness of my colleagues has been brilliant, from when I first joined six years ago and throughout my career.

“I’m now looking forward to having more responsibility in my role and working on a variety of new projects as the business continues to grow.”

Kelly added: “It means so much to work for an employer that clearly values each and every one of its employees. Lovell provides its employees with an excellent place to grow and develop and during my time with the company I’ve seen so many well-deserved promotions across the business.

“I love the variety that each of our developments has to offer and working with different colleagues and clients alongside our supply chain to deliver successful projects provides an enormous sense of achievement at the end of each project.”

Simon Medler, regional managing director, said: “I’m delighted that both Kelly and Darren have progressed within the business and I’m thankful for their hard work during a period of continued growth. It’s also incredibly important at Lovell that we continue to invest in our employees and provide opportunities for progression, even with the challenging backdrop of the pandemic.”

Current projects Kelly and Darren are working on include St Mary’s View in Gislingham, The Acorns in Walsham-le-Willows and St Edmund’s Park in Acle. Kelly will also be carrying out the role of commercial lead on future projects in partnership with Repton Developments.
