A Suffolk prep-school pupil has had her dream bedroom brought to life following an interior design challenge at Denbury Homes’ new flagship development in Bury St Edmunds.
A total of 45 children from South Lee Prep School and Nursery took part in a competition to design a child’s bedroom at St Edmunds Gate, with Denbury Homes and their Sudbury-based interior design firm, Rendall and Wright, selecting a winner from a shortlist of 10.
Year 8 pupil Maggie produced the winning design which Rendall and Wright then transformed into reality.
Monty Beaton, Head of Sales and Marketing at Denbury Homes, said: “Maggie’s design shows fantastic imagination and was a great response to the brief we set. It was a joy to see her face as she opened the door.
“We’re really proud of this collaboration and grateful to the school for their proactive approach and support.”
Sarah Catchpole, Head of South Lee Prep School and Nursery, said: “I’m very proud of the enthusiasm with which the children took on this task.
“It’s been an invaluable experience for our pupils, giving them an opportunity to apply their creativity to a real-world challenge.
“Congratulations to Maggie and to all those who took part.”
