An award-winning Norfolk health and safety consultancy is celebrating its second anniversary – and moving into its first physical office.
Immerse Safety was set up by Carly Hughes in 2024, who initially ran the business on her own out of a spare bedroom in her home, and has now grown to a team of three.
It’s been a hugely successful year for the business, more than tripling its turnover on the year before and winning a host of contracts and awards.
Carly said: “It’s exciting to celebrate the business’ second birthday and to move into our first physical office.
“Since launching in March 2024, the business has been operating from my home, so to now be moving into a physical office space, with my lovely colleagues, is incredible.”

Since its inception, the company has been virtual tenants with Beacon Innovation Centre, but have now progressed into physical tenants, moving into their new office in the Centre at Beacon Park, Gorleston-on-sea.
The all-female team moved into their new headquarters on Monday, March 2.
Last year, the business celebrated achieving its IOSH accreditation for its Managing Safely course, with two more of its courses achieving accreditation through The CPD Certification Service.

Immerse Safety also scooped a number of awards, including winning Construction & Building Services StartUp of the Year at the UK Start Up Awards and the ‘One to Watch’ award at the EEEGR Awards.
The business is now venturing into supporting the renewable energy sector with its health and safety, working with some of the supply chain supporting the region’s biggest infrastructure projects such as Sizewell C and the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm.

“It feels great to be a local business supporting local infrastructure,” said Carly.
“But our health and safety support has now reached as far as London, the Home Counties, East Midlands and Europe.
“I love the fact we have something different and interesting going on every week, and that we can support clients of all different shapes and sizes – from big PLCs to SMEs and lone traders.
“I also love that I get the opportunity to develop my team. I am passionate about training and building the competence of my team.
“It’s great to move into our new home and I’m excited at what we can achieve in the future.”
