Residents have until the end of the month to have their say on plans for up to 1,300 homes on the outskirts of Ipswich.

Bloor Homes have proposed plans for a new neighbourhood on Foxhall Road near Kesgrave, opposite the recycling centre, which will include a ‘significant proportion’ of affordable housing.

Plans also include a community hub, with potential space for shops and cafes, a new primary school and large green open spaces including allotments and children’s play areas.

The plans also include improvements to local highways, as well as a comprehensive network of pathways and bicycle lanes.

The housebuilder has recently met with residents to discuss how the plans will meet the needs of the community, asking they submit comments by October 28.

A spokesman for Bloor Homes said: “We are at the start of the planning process and want to work closely with the local community to ensure the neighbourhood reflects their needs and aspirations.

“We had the opportunity to meet with local councillors, including representatives from both parish and district councils.

“These were positive and constructive conversations, focused on the future of the area and how we can work together to deliver a community that meets local needs.

“We were also pleased to welcome over 300 residents to our public engagement sessions.

“Attendees shared a wide range of insightful feedback, particularly around infrastructure and local amenities, and we’re very grateful for their input.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with the community and stakeholders to help shape a proposal that reflects the aspirations of the local area.”

Bloor Homes expects to submit an outline planning application, drawing on the comments from residents, as early as this winter.
