A longstanding Ipswich chartered surveyancy practice is in the running for a prestigious national construction award.
Castons, which celebrated its 130th birthday last year, has been shortlisted in the Construction Consultancy of the Year category at this year’s Construction News Awards.
It shares a position on the shortlist with some of the UK’s biggest and most well-known firms, stamping Castons’ authority as an industry leader.
Tim Tompkins, Director at Castons, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award.
“To be named among the calibre of high-profile firms across our sector showcases just how much our business has continued to grow in recent years.
“This news reflects the incredible work of our team, working together to deliver outstanding projects both here in Suffolk and beyond.”

Castons has experienced continued growth in recent years, which has included becoming part of the internationally-renowned Artelia Group.
It is currently delivering some of the UK’s most significant healthcare projects, including three new hospital programmes in the eastern region.
The firm moved offices for the first time in 70 years last year to facilitate further national growth and opted to remain in Ipswich to maintain its strong East Anglian roots.
Tim added: “This is an incredibly exciting time for our business as we continue to take on more projects and expand our team.
“This shortlisting is only the beginning when it comes to getting our name out there and growing our reputation as a provider of industry-leading consultancy and project management services.”
The Castons team will join the industry’s biggest names at a gala awards ceremony in London on July 9.
