In the first instalment of our new Movers and Shakers series, we look at the big names in our region’s construction industry that made moves or rose the ranks in late 2025.
The final quarter of 2025 brought with it numerous high profile stories of recruitments and promotions as firms prepped for the New Year. Here’s a rundown of some of the most notable.

Sam Brown
A new era began for Rose Homes for Life, with Rose Group veteran Sam Brown being appointed as the business’ new Managing Director in October.
Sam said he wants to be the “guardian” of the business and grow the firm’s reputation for building high-quality homes.
Steven Rose, Managing Director of Rose Group, said: “Sam’s depth of knowledge, dedication and care in delivering outstanding service set him apart.
“This promotion reflects his exceptional leadership and contribution to our business. We are delighted to see him step up into this well-deserved role.”

Ross Constant
A promotion was in order for Allison Homes’ Ross Constant in October, with the then Senior Technical Manager taking on a new role as Group Head of Technical.
His promotion came as the housebuilder unveiled a five-year plan to double in size in an “exciting phase of expansion”.
Andrew Robson, Group Commercial Director, said: “Ross’s promotion is thoroughly deserved. He will make a significant impact on how we work, through his focus on technical expertise, collaboration and improvement.
“As we continue to grow, Ross’s leadership will help strengthen our technical capability and support the delivery of even more high-quality, efficient and sustainable homes.”

Gary Rush
Gary Rush saw off 2025 with a bang after being promoted to Construction Director at Ipswich-based Aspen Build in December.
The company stalwart had spent nearly 10 years at the firm before his promotion, leading on numerous projects across the region as a Construction Manager.
James Betts, Operations Director at Aspen Build, said: “Gary has grown with Aspen over nearly a decade, and his appointment as Construction Director reflects both his personal capability and the direction of the business.
“Gary is central to shaping how we deliver projects – with quality, consistency and people at the heart of everything we do.”

Jake Waggott
After 16 years at Barnes Construction, Jake Waggott swapped the world of quantity surveying for the commercial department at Seamans in October.
As the firm’s new Commercial Manager, his start to life at the Thurston-based firm has seen him get involved on and off-site for projects across the county.
Speaking on his new role, he said: “Seamans is a great company with great people, and some really interesting projects to be a part of.
“Depending on the number of live projects I have on, I get a great balance of being on-site and being in the office, which is something I really enjoy about the role.”

Simon Hubert
SEH French’s Simon Hubert topped off his 16th year with the Ipswich construction company with a promotion to Contracts Director as the contractor targets further growth.
He had previously spent 11 years as Contracts Manager, playing a key role in the delivery of the firm’s biggest project to date – the £13.5m headquarters for pet food brand Natures Menu.
SEH French’s Director, Simon Girling, said: “We are delighted to appoint Simon to his new position.
“He has a proven track record of delivering high quality projects and is the perfect person to take on this important role.”

Anthony Arnold
Experienced house designer Anthony Arnold of Hopkins Homes joined the firm’s sister company, Denbury Homes, in December – earning himself a promotion along the way.
Now Denbury’s Head of Design, he plays the leading role in designing the overall layout of all Denbury developments and their homes.
Speaking on the arrival of Anthony and Head of Land Sam Courtley, who celebrated his first anniversary with the firm, CEO Lee Barnard said both were “very welcome additions” to the team.
“Their leadership of the design and land departments is playing a key role in ensuring we can pursue our growth targets without sacrificing the quality and individuality of the homes and developments,” he added.
