Ipswich-based fire safety and security services company Protect & Detect is now offering Hikvision Temperature Screening Solutions.

In light of COVID-19, increased demand for safety and wellbeing within offices and public areas has led to Protect & Detect expanding their product portfolio offering which is already proving popular with local businesses.

Designed to detect skin-surface temperatures, Hikvision products help to achieve rapid and safe preliminary screening in public areas with high efficiency in a multitude of scenarios. Unlike conventional methods, such as using ear or mercury thermometers that have obvious drawbacks when dealing with large volumes of people, Hikvision is safer, faster and smarter.

Advantages of this technology include:

  • Thermographic cameras only detect human skin-surface temperature, therefore reducing false results from other heat sources.
  • The compensation algorithm ensures the temperature is compensated with ambient temperature and the distance of the measured target offers better accuracy.
  • It offers more flexibility and efficiency in preliminary screening of elevated skin-surface temperatures in different scenarios.

Vincent Langley, Director of Protect & Detect said: “Wellbeing and safety is paramount for everyone during the current pandemic of Coronavirus. With a lot of different temperature screening products available on the market and all with varying degrees of success and accuracy, we found that the Hikvision products offer the most reliable, accurate results. From reception areas, offices or crowded public areas, there is a product that can help detect abnormal temperature results.

“We have already been working closely with a number of local businesses to get these products installed into their premises, therefore providing both employers and employees peace of mind that their working environment is as safe as possible.”
