Workers at a Norfolk-based construction firm filled their trolleys with festive treats in a Christmas challenge for foodbanks across the east.
Six teams from R G Carter took part in the ‘Trolley Dash’, piling their carts high with almost a tonne of goods for six foodbanks operated by The Trussell Trust.

Each team was joined by a representative from their respective foodbank, ensuring the trolleys were full of the most sought after household goods and festive treats from a £500 shopping list.
The winning team crossed the check-out line in just 14 minutes and 43 seconds.
Jemma Jackson, Operations Manager at Waveney Foodbank, said: “This can be a very expensive time of year for many people in the UK, and donations like these given by R G Carter can make a huge difference to families and individuals.
“This was the first time we have ever been involved in a Trolley Dash and we were delighted with the support. We will certainly put the items to good use.”

The five foodbanks which will benefit from this year’s challenge are based in Beccles, Diss, Halstead, Lincoln, Stowmarket and Wisbech.
Ian Gifford, MD of R G Carter Construction, added: “It is a privilege to help support and raise awareness for our local foodbanks at this challenging time.
“The festive season is the perfect opportunity for us to involve the amazing volunteers and our employees in some festive fun, all for a great cause.”
