Plans for a major £55m expansion to a business park on the edge of Bury St Edmunds have been unveiled.
If successful, the plans would see seven new business units built in Zone 1 of Suffolk Business Park, located by junction 45 of the A14.
The units across the 16 acre plot would create some 217,000sqft of space for light industrial use, storage, research and development, and office-based business use.
The plans have been submitted by Churchmanor Estates Plc, who previously completed the award-winning Avant Tecno UK headquarters on the business park alongside contractor SEH French last year.
Matt Cloke, Development Director at Churchmanor Estates, said the development would generate more employment opportunities for the local community.
“We’re proud to be investing further in Bury St Edmunds,” he said.
“This new phase will support local employment, attract innovative companies, and help secure long-term prosperity for the local community.”
Other features included in the proposals cover green landscaping, cycle paths and sustainable business features that aim to make the park a pleasant, accessible place to work.
The plans remain with West Suffolk Council for approval.
Other upcoming developments at Suffolk Business Park include the construction of a state-of-the-art £40m brewery for Greene King. Plans for the long-time Westgate Street-based brewer were approved in January.
