A multi-award-winning Suffolk architectural practice has opened a second office for the first time in its history – signalling an exciting period of growth for the firm.

KLH Architects, based in Sproughton, has opened its new satellite office in Clements Road, Melton as the firm targets further expansion into the high-end residential market.

Ben Moore, Director at KLH Architects, said: “This is a really positive step for the practice.

“With the growth of the business and our team, we’re very much at capacity in our current base. We discussed the potential to add additional space here, before we considered a satellite office.

“We chose Melton as it is strategically located to allow us better access to high-end residential work on the Suffolk coast, as well as a number of other projects like Sizewell C, which will be massive for the area over the next 10 to 20 years.

“We’ve echoed the quality of our Sproughton office to create a great place to work. It’s the perfect hub where our teams can meet and work with clients operating on that side of the county.”

Improvements made to the former stables included removing the ceilings to create open plan, vaulted spaces – while fellow Director Stuart Edgar has designed an 8-bit themed mural of the local area.

The firm also worked with local fabricator RMI Engineering to create bespoke, KLH Architects branded furniture throughout the building – creating a sleek and professional finish.

Ben said he wouldn’t rule out further expansions in the future – including the possibility of a satellite office in London to support the firm’s work in the capital.

He said: “We’re doing a lot of work in London in retail, healthcare and office fits, so we could potentially extend that way as well.

“It’s all really positive in every aspect – and we’re looking forward to inviting more clients to come in and see us.”
