Work to upgrade Ipswich Town’s famous Portman Road football ground is well underway as the club prepares for an exciting return to the Premier League.
In May, Ipswich Town unveiled plans for the major upgrades, which will see significant improvements to the West Stand and Fanzone.
The work will see turnstiles 42 to 47, along Sir Alf Ramsey Way, demolished and replaced by a new main gate.
A new concourse is also being constructed beneath the existing west stand, which will be home to 16 automated turnstiles.
The construction site is currently a hive of activity, with the former turnstile block now removed and foundations laid for the new concourse.
The new-look concourse will feature a host of new food and drink stands and toilets, as well as providing a new entrance for hospitality ticket holders.
Fans will be able to enter the Fanzone space, which is set to almost double from 864m2 to 1,759m2, without a ticket, creating a community space for fans to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere.
This is in addition to construction work taking place on the lower Sir Bobby Robson Stand, where safe standing is being installed.
The deadline is fast approaching with the start of the season now just four weeks away when Ipswich welcome Sunderland to Portman Road on Saturday, August 22.
