A new partnership-led housebuilder has launched in the East of England – and has announced its first development.
Ardena Homes will work in partnership with housing associations, local authorities and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable homes.
The company forms part of Phoenix Sustainable Investments, drawing on its expertise in sustainable development in housing, energy and environmental infrastructure, alongside the land expertise of Phoenix Strategic Land.
Karl Hick, CEO of Phoenix Sustainable Investments, brings almost four decades of experience in the sector to the role, having led two national housebuilders to success – Allison Homes and Larkfleet Homes.
“Ardena Homes represents a natural evolution of our platform, bringing together land, planning and delivery capability into a focused housebuilding business,” he said.
“We are taking a long-term view, working with partners to deliver homes that meet changing expectations around sustainability, performance and quality.”
As part of the company’s launch, Ardena Homes has announced its first development near its headquarters in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
The development comprises a collection of five private-sale homes, which are expected to be completed in October this year.
The development is the first in a pipeline of sites including Holt in Norfolk, Nassington in Northamptonshire, Claypole and Barrowby in Lincolnshire, Glinton in Peterborough, Winthorpe in Nottinghamshire and Beccles in Suffolk.
Sustainability will be core to every home the company builds, designed in line with the Future Homes Standard.
They will include high levels of insulation and low-carbon technologies, including air source heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicle charging.
Sean Wilson, Group Technical Director, said: “Sustainability has to be engineered into the fabric of a home, not added later.
“At Ardena Homes, we focus on measurable performance and how homes operate day-to-day.
“By combining high levels of insulation with efficient systems and technologies, we are delivering homes designed for long-term environmental and operational performance.”
