A Norfolk health and safety consultancy is celebrating winning the Start-Up Business Award for the East of England at the Small Business Growth Awards.
Immerse Safety, which was founded in March 2024 by Director Carly Hughes, now go through to the national finals, which take place in London in June.
“Winning this award is an incredibly proud moment for us,” said Carly.
“Immerse Safety started from my third bedroom with a vision to deliver practical, personable and high-quality health and safety support to businesses that genuinely adds value, with great customer service.
“Over the past year, we’ve experienced significant growth, expanded our client base, built a fantastic team and recently moved into our own office in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth.
”It hasn’t come without challenges – building a business is one of the most demanding things I’ve ever done – but I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far.
“This award reflects the hard work, commitment and passion of everyone involved in the business, as well as the trust our clients place in us every day.”
Immerse Safety has rapidly established itself within the construction, renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, delivering practical health and safety consultancy, auditing and training services across the East of England and beyond

Celebrating its second birthday in March, it’s been a hugely successful year for the business, more than tripling its turnover on the year before and winning a host of contracts and awards.
It has already scooped a number of awards, including winning Construction & Building Services Start-Up of the Year at the UK Start Up Awards and the ‘One to Watch’ award at the EEEGR Awards.
The Small Business Growth Awards celebrate the achievements of SMEs and entrepreneurs making a significant contribution to their industries and local economies, with support from both HSBC UK and the Federation of Small Businesses.
Danny Brown, Regional Director – East of England at HSBC UK, added: “These awards were launched to recognise the small businesses making a positive impact across the East of England.”
Antony Malone, Chief Commercial Officer at FSB, added: “Huge congratulations to all the winners.
“Their achievements show the breadth, creativity, and resilience that define small businesses across the East of England.
“Celebrating their success is exactly why FSB exists – to champion and support the people who make our small business community so strong.”
