The facilities coming soon to the development on Lawrence Weaver Road include basketball courts, multi-use sports fields, tennis courts and a sports pavilion.

With Team GB’s growing medal success in many different Olympic events, it is Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ hope that new residents can find a sport for them and perhaps inspire the next generation of Olympians.

Will Phair, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “We’re delighted to soon offer the new sports facilities at our Darwin Geen development for residents and the wider community to enjoy.

“With the Olympic Games currently underway, sport is well and truly at the front of people’s minds, and we are looking forward to help foster the love of sport within our new residents.

“The development has a number of great features for residents to make use of, and we’re really proud of the community that is taking shape here.”

Other facilities coming to Darwin Green include a central park with over 15 acres of green open space. Future plans for the development also include a purpose-built primary school, supermarket and library.

Residents can also benefit from excellent commuter links and Cambridge City centre being only 1.6 miles away, with cycle and pedestrian friendly walking routes around the development which promote sustainable living.
