An Ipswich-based flat roofing company has been handed the keys to its newly refurbished headquarters in the town.

An opening ceremony was held at Bauder Ltd’s revamped HQ in Landseer Road on Tuesday, September 15, attended by the town’s mayor.

The refurbishment began ten months ago, delivered by Gipping Construction and designed by Ingleton Wood, combining renewable energy technologies, improved building performance and modern workplace facilities.

It comes after the company opened a new warehouse at Stowmarket’s Gateway 14 last year.

With its UK headquarters based in Ipswich since 1979, the German firm manufactures and supplies flat roof waterproofing systems, thermal insulation, green and blue roofs and photovoltaic (PV) solutions.

Yvonne Higgins and John Llewellyn, joint Managing Directors of Bauder, said: “Our refurbished UK headquarters, together with our new distribution centre in Stowmarket, represent significant investments in Bauder’s future and reflect our commitment to combining business growth with environmental responsibility.

“We are proud to have created a workplace that supports the wellbeing, flexibility and collaboration of our growing team.

“By integrating energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy generation, we have modernised our facilities in a way that benefits our employees, customers and the wider community while contributing to a more sustainable future.”

Yvonne added: “It’s just so nice to be back home.”

The building’s solar PV installation comprises 335 panels, and has anticipated outputs of 121,517 kWh per year, saving 25,160.16kg of CO2 annually.

Julian Davis, Construction Director at Gipping Construction, said: “The project went really well for us, completely on programme and on time in 42 weeks.

“Existing buildings always give you a challenge as you never quite know what you will find but today is a great example and demonstration of collaborative working.

“It’s been a really good job to work on, we’ve really enjoyed it – it was a big team effort to get the project over the line.”

Mayor of Ipswich, Cllr Pat Bruce-Browne, said: “It’s an absolutely amazing building, it’s beautiful.

“It’s good for the town as it shows investors this can be a great place to base your business.

“It’s fantastic for Bauder to have such a nice space for people to come and work.”
