Hopkins Homes has appointed Matt Ward as the company’s new Land Director to oversee the company’s land acquisition across the East Anglian region.

Matt Ward brings a wealth of experience with him, joining from Barratt David Wilson Homes where he grew the company’s portfolio of developments, most recently in the position of Development Director.

In his new role, Matt will be responsible for identifying and securing land opportunities, supporting the company’s ambitious plans to deliver high quality homes across East Anglia.

Matt said: “I am very much looking forward to working for Hopkins Homes. The team has established an enviable reputation for developing exceptional homes right across the region.

“The demand for new homes in the UK continues to remain strong and this is a fantastic opportunity to bring forward developments that people are proud to call home.

“What I love about this role is that each development and community is different. Working with the team, you can take an area of land from scratch and transform it into beautiful homes and places that people love to live in.”

Matt added: “I’m keen to bring a fresh pair of eyes to the company, drawing on my experience working with a number of national housebuilders over the years.

“Some of the procedures that work well within PLCs will complement the strong brand and reputation that Hopkins Homes has nurtured.”

Matt, who lives in Norfolk, believes East Anglia is proving a very popular draw for homebuyers due to its affordability, rural character, and access to some of the UK’s finest coastline.

He added: “The pandemic has made people reassess their work and homelife balance. They are drawn to property features such as garden spaces and having dedicated study and office rooms to work from.

“More and more people are looking to buy a new home in East Anglia. This means that good development sites are in greater demand than ever before and becoming harder to secure. Our advantage is that many landowners want to be associated with everything that the Hopkins Homes brand stands for – and want to work with us.”

As an award-winning housebuilder, Hopkins Homes helps to meet the demand for homes in the region by building around 1,000 homes each year across Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex. This total includes around one quarter that are affordable homes.

Welcoming Matt to Hopkins Homes, Group Managing Director, Lee Barnard, said: “Matt’s experience will be a tremendous asset to our business as he knows both the housing industry and the region of East Anglia inside out. Throughout his career Matt has clearly been motivated by delivering aspirational developments that people are proud to call home which is very much aligned with our company ethos.

“His extensive knowledge of immediate and strategic land acquisition will help us build on our portfolio of developments and further strengthen our position as East Anglia’s largest independent housebuilder.” To find out more about Hopkins Homes, visit: www.hopkinshomes.co.uk
