Repton Property Developments, the housing development company wholly owned by Norfolk County Council, has handed over the first three new houses on its development at Saxon Heath in Attleborough to Orbit Homes.
A new show home on the development, which is in the town’s Hargham Road, has also been completed and is now open.
Constructed by leading partnership housebuilder, Lovell, these are the first of 48 high quality, contemporary two- and three-bedroom new homes being built at Saxon Heath, with every property available for shared ownership or social rent. This is the first project by Repton, in partnership with Lovell, which will comprise solely affordable homes. Upon completion of the development, Orbit Homes will take over the management of the site.
Cllr Greg Peck, Chair of the Board of Repton, said: “This is great news and it’s excellent to hear that we’re already getting positive feedback from families who have visited the showhomes so far. It’s a key step in a unique project for Repton – as it’s the first time we’re working in partnership to create a development of 100% affordable homes, that are close to shops, work, education and transport. It’s good for the local economy too as the build is supporting local jobs, and I’m also pleased the team have been working to incorporate existing trees into the design. It will be fantastic to see the first families moving into their new homes very soon!”
Simon Medler, Regional Managing Director at Lovell, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Repton on the development at Saxon Heath, helping them deliver these much-needed affordable homes for the people of Norfolk. We have a very strong partnership with Repton and are working closely with them on a number of sites throughout the county.”
Ray Winney, Regional Managing Director at Orbit Homes, added: “We are delighted to have taken the first completions at our brand-new development in Attleborough, Saxon Heath. This much-needed collection of 48 affordable properties will create a thriving new community in Norfolk and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to deliver high-quality affordable homes in the East. We are pleased to be working with our strategic partners, Homes England and collaborating with Repton, Lovell and Norfolk County Council on this exciting new development.”
