Construction work has officially started on a new homes development in the Cambridgeshire village of Needingworth.

David Wilson Homes is delivering a collection of 120 new homes at Needingworth Park, which will bring a variety of two to five-bedroom properties that will suit a range of buyers.

The development will also underpin over 240 local jobs in the area and will bring significant investment to the area via its S106 agreement.

The funding, which totals £1,205,000, forms part of the planning agreement for the new development and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the village.

Among the investment is £35,000 towards transport and a Community Infrastructure Levy payment of £1,170,000.

Located on Bluntisham Road, Needingworth Park will provide excellent commuter links for working professionals being less than eight miles from Huntingdon and less than 20 miles from Cambridge.

John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said, “We’re really excited to start work on our new development in Needingworth, bringing much needed, quality properties to the area.

“As our Needingworth Park development begins to progress we will not only be contributing to the local area financially but also in terms of the jobs we have created for local people and the homes we are bringing.

“Investing in local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.”

There are many natural attractions near the countryside development, including the Ouse Fen Nature Reserve which provides the perfect escape for those looking to get a breath of fresh air. Needingworth also has a local convenience store and pub.

Just one mile away from the development is the Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Holywell C of E Primary School and just three miles away is the Ofsted rated ‘Good’ St Ivo Academy Secondary School.
