A leading construction and property development company has restructured following a year of significant growth in the face of adversity.
Anderson, which has its head offices in Chelmsford but manages sites across the East of England, has “optimised and adapted” to improve reporting structures, communications and create efficiency and opportunity in both the construction and development divisions of the business.
The changes – all internal appointments – include promoting Glenn Potter to Managing Director of Development and Steve Howe to Managing Director of Construction.
Sean Emmett’s role will change to that of Group Partnerships Director responsible for managing relationships with key business partners and Darren Carter will take on the new role of Group Sales and Marketing Director feeding directly into construction and development business activities.
Andrew Jay has been named Anderson’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Jay said: “This year has undoubtedly been a difficult one for the housebuilding industry, but the message from government is clear – we must keep moving.
“So, despite adversity, we have experienced business growth as a direct result of our continued reliability, ability and agility.
“From this position of strength, we took the decision to review, optimise and adapt our operations and restructure to meet ever-changing market conditions.
“The new roles will enhance both the Construction and Development divisions moving forward, building on the talent we have to continue delivering our services safely, on time and on budget.
“This re-structuring of our organisation is intended to create clear reporting structures, improve communications and create efficiencies that will enhance our businesses offering.”
Glenn and Steve both hold more than 30 years of construction experience, and have worked on large scale housing regeneration schemes, conversion work, new builds and community regeneration projects.
Chartered surveyor Sean has worked at Anderson for more than 20 years and has a strong background in development and contracting in the residential, commercial and retail sectors and Darren has a wealth of experience from decades in the industry, many of which have been spent at Anderson.
Mr Jay, who is responsible for the strategic direction of all Anderson companies and boasts more than 35 years of construction and development experience, said: “These internal promotions complement the existing management team which now has more than 150 years’ experience between them.
“These appointments demonstrate both the quality of our key team members and our commitment to them. It also creates great opportunities for career development for our wider team.”
Other changes to the group structure include promotion of Michael Keeley to Associate ProductionDirector of Construction and Andrew Nowosad to Associate Commercial Director of Construction.
Mr Jay added: “Since they joined the company more than six years ago, they have both shown great commitment and aptitude towards their work and have been an influential part in Anderson being recognised as an industry leader.
“They are both known for their ability to be team players and overcome problems during challenging times along with playing a key part in the successful growth of the construction business and we are sure they will continue to maintain the high standards they have both set.”
