Robinson Manufacturing won the Manufacturer of the Year award – turnover above £25 million – at the annual Insider’s Made in Central and East of England Awards 2020.

RML are manufacturers of high-quality engineered roof trusses, metal web joists and suppliers of i-beams, spandrel panels and glulam beams. Operating since 1986, the business originated from Roof Truss manufacturing in Wellingborough and has since expanded to seven large factories across the UK.

With a market-leading design team and innovation-led product development, RML place emphasis on high-quality product and outstanding customer service for national, regional and local developers.

This series of award ceremonies celebrate the innovations and achievements of manufacturing companies across the UK, judged by a panel of experts. All winners of the various awards on offer during the evening will go forward to the national ‘Made in the UK’ event in June of this year in Liverpool.

Amongst the much-anticipated Manufacturing Company of the Year achievement, other awards were presented such as the Apprenticeship Scheme of the Year and Manufacturing Innovation Award.

The award was presented by sponsors of the evening and category HSBC – represented by Andrew Garvey, Deputy Head of Corporate Banking. Head of Truss Production, Mat Harbour collected the award.

Mr Harbour said: “It is fantastic to win this award considering the other credible companies we were nominated with. The growth we have experienced in the last five years has been a credit to the high quality of our product and dedication of our employees to provide exceptional service, despite the highly competitive nature of the market.”

Now confirmed as the winners of this award series, RML will represent the region in attending the UK’s final ceremony.
