Barratt and David Wilson Homes has donated over £18,000 to the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, its Charity of the Year for 2019.
As part of its efforts to support the communities close to its developments, Barratt and David Wilson Homes has made the £18,387.50 contribution towards the Foundation’s community hub, The Nest.
Located on the outskirts of Norwich, The Nest is the Foundation’s brand new state-of-the-art facility, featuring residential bunk boxes, high-quality grass football pitches and a main building with superb catering amenities.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ contribution will help raise the £1 million required to build the second phase of the facility by Autumn 2020, helping the Foundation to benefit an additional 12,000 people.
Emma Fletcher at the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, said: “We are so grateful to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for this incredible contribution.
“It was great to be selected as their Charity of the Year, but we never expected such a brilliant total, which will unlock the same amount again in match-funding from Norwich City Football Club.”
The funds raised by Barratt and David Wilson Homes have come from a golf day, clay pigeon shooting, dress down days and multiple cake sales.
Representatives of the Foundation, Joe Harvey and Emma Fletcher, met with Mark Cotes, Kelly Ager and Kelly Braybrook for the cheque handover at the homebuilder’s divisional office.
Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We are delighted to make our Charity of the Year donation to the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation.
“As a leading homebuilder, we aim to engage with and support the local areas around our developments as much as possible and by making this donation we hope to help the Foundation continue their fantastic work.”
