East Anglia’s largest privately owned housebuilder, Hopkins Homes, has appointed Duncan Jackson, formerly of CALA Homes, as its new Managing Director.
Duncan starts his role today on 13th November and will lead the strategic direction for the housebuilder. He replaces Chris Severson, an Operating Managing Director at Terra Firma, who has been in the role on an interim basis since June 2023. Terra Firma acquired the housebuilder in 2022.
A renowned leader within the sector, Duncan has over 25 years’ experience in senior executive roles and a strong land-acquisition background, making him ideally placed to drive the strategic direction of Hopkins Homes as it enters its next phase of growth.
Duncan established the ‘North Home Counties’ region for housebuilder, CALA Group from its inception in 2014. Under his leadership, the company experienced substantial growth, delivering a significant number of homes and generating a substantial turnover last year. CALA Group operates throughout Scotland, the Midlands and the Southeast of England.
His list of achievements is extensive. Prior to Cala Homes, he held Managing Director positions for Persimmon Homes Essex and Taylor Wimpey North Thames. He has also held senior land roles at George Wimpey and Laing Homes, curating a strong network of land contacts and valuable knowledge over that period.
Duncan said: “I am really looking forward to joining the Hopkins Homes team. The business has a great reputation for developing exceptional new homes across East Anglia and I’m keen to bring my experience and perspective to the company, having worked with a number of national housebuilders over the years.”
Welcoming Duncan to Hopkins Homes, Chris Severson said: “We are incredibly excited to have Duncan on board as Managing Director. His track record of delivery at all levels speaks for itself and I know he will be a huge asset to the business as we continue to work towards our overarching goal: building distinctive new homes and communities that people are proud to call home.”
