Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire is continuing its positive work to support local employment, skills and training by creating a new apprenticeship role to develop talent across the areas in which it builds.
The leading housebuilder aims to recruit a new commercial advanced apprentice, to work across at its head office in Peterborough.
The vacancy comes ahead of the 14th annual National Apprenticeship Week, running from February 8th to 14th, which celebrates the benefits of apprenticeships for individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
National Apprenticeship Week is a celebration of apprenticeships across England and is a time to recognise and applaud apprentices across the country.
Throughout the 14 years, the awareness week has brought together apprenticeship supporters from across the country, with MPs, ambassadors, apprentices, training providers and top employers involved in recognising the value and importance of apprenticeships.
Adam Knight, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “The construction industry is continuing to grow and this is an exciting time for anyone with an interest in housebuilding to join a market leading company.
“As one of the country’s top developers we are absolutely committed to developing raw talent and I believe that we have a duty to provide these kinds of apprenticeship opportunities.”
The new commercial apprentice, who will start in September, will combine on and off-the-job training to learn the commercial elements of the role with industry-leading further study.
All programmes are well structured and tailored to individual needs. Apprentices will receive encouragement, support and guidance to help them develop, giving the skills and qualifications for a successful career.
