Ingleton Wood, one of the largest leading property and construction consultancies in the East of England, has announced the completion of a three-year merger of the Martindales Architects team.

The Ingleton Wood Practice acquired Martindales Architects in 2017 and moved its multi-disciplinary Cambridge operation and the new architectural team to Oakington Business Park.

For the past three years, the growing architectural part of the business has been known as Ingleton Wood Martindales but following the completion of the merger, it has now been completely integrated into the Ingleton Wood family and will now have the same brand: Ingleton Wood.

Since 2017, the Cambridge office has doubled in size from 16 to 32 employees and continues to prosper under the leadership of partner Anni Folan-White and Mike Miller, lead director of the Cambridge office.

Anni said: “The completion of the architectural merger in Cambridge strengthens our position as a leading property and construction consultancy in the East of England whilst allowing us to continue to invest, grow and enjoy further success across all disciplines.”

The client commissions for the practice range from new build and refurbishment projects to masterplanning and surveying work. The sectors covered range from education, healthcare, housing, local authority and commercial.

Established more than 50 years ago, Ingleton Wood now has six offices across the East of England and London, employing more than 200 staff.

Peter Griffiths, director of architecture at Ingleton Wood’s Cambridge office, said: “We are excited by the opportunity this brings, allowing us to provide an enhanced service through integrated team working across all of the Ingleton Wood disciplines.

“The merger also ensures that dedicated client service, care for environment, commitment to community and visionary approach remains at the heart of our work.”

Founded in 1979, Martindales started solely as an architectural design consultancy but evolved to encompass additional in-house services such as project management, environmental assessment, principal designers and specialist consultancy services.

Ingleton Wood is one of the largest property and construction consultancies covering Central England, East Anglia, London and the South East, with offices in Colchester, Norwich, Cambridge, Billericay, Oxford and London. Its services include architecture, building surveying, building services engineering, planning, interior design, civil and structural engineering, quantity surveying, project management and health and safety.
