Norwich-based partnership homes developer Lovell has been announced as a finalist in two different categories at this years’ Investors in People Awards.
Lovell Partnerships has been shortlisted for ‘The Learning and Development Award (250+)’, and Construction Manager, Michael Saunders, has been named a finalist in the ‘Leader of the Year (250+)’ category.
Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage staff effectively, and highlighting a company’s success in ensuring learning opportunities are available to everyone.
The awards, which were first held in 2014, celebrate people that make work better through continuous improvement and employee recognition.
Lovell prides itself on its People Development Strategy, which is centered around recruiting talent, keeping talent safe and secure, and developing and retaining talent. It is refreshed each year to keep up to date and incorporate staff feedback.
Michael Saunders is based in King’s Lynn and began working for Lovell in 2001. In partnership with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Michael delivered a record number of new homes, all whilst improving customer satisfaction across the region and taking the lead in community-based activities.
Simon Medler, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for two Investors in People Awards in recognition of both our people and Michael’s hard work and dedication.
“At Lovell our employees are extremely important to us, and I’m very proud to see that the emphasis we place on supporting our staff has been recognised. It’s our people who really make the difference – they bring innovation, commitment and expertise to everything they do.
“Michael is someone who evidences all the qualities of a great leader and strives to empower people to be the best they can be. He has inspired his team to achieve more than they thought possible and deliver outstanding results, without sacrificing his commitment to training young people and ensuring our projects contribute positively to the community as a whole.”
Michael Saunders added: “I’m delighted to have been named a finalist for this years’ Investors in People Awards. I always enjoy meeting new people, supporting and developing others into their roles and helping to encourage young people into the industry, and I’m looking forward to building on that in the future.”
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Investors in People Awards ceremony has been cancelled and this year’s winners will be announced online on 24th November 2020.
