Partnership housing specialist Lovell will develop 45 new affordable homes in Witchford, Ely for Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest provider of affordable housing.
Clarion has worked with Lovell for many years on projects including Beck Row in Suffolk and its popular Wensum Grange development in Fakenham.
Located on Sutton Road, the new site at Witchford will consist of ten one and two-bedroom maisonettes and 35 two and three-bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, set in a beautifully landscaped environment with space for parking. The homes will be a mix of shared ownership and social rent.
Simon Medler, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We’re thrilled to be developing a new site in partnership with Clarion Housing Group. It’s a pleasure to have been selected as Clarion’s development partner for yet another project, which will provide much-needed affordable homes in Witchford.
“Lovell has extensive experience of using its development expertise to work with housing associations and local authorities to produce much-needed housing across East Anglia. We’re looking forward to using our experience on this exciting project which will increase the supply of new homes locally, as well as boosting the economy and surrounding communities.”
Dan Read, Regional Partnerships Director (East) at Clarion Housing Group, said: “Working with partners like Lovell who share our commitment to placemaking and delivering high quality, affordable homes for our residents is one of the ways we build thriving and vibrant communities. Our development at Witchford will provide much-needed affordable homes to meet the needs of a wide range of households and we’re excited to see our plans take shape.”
Work on site has already begun, and the first residents are expected to move into their new homes in summer 2022.
