Norwich-based housing developer Lovell has appointed a new health, safety and environmental manager to its growing team.
Adrian Boulter recently joined the leading housebuilder with 17 years’ experience in health, safety and environment, working daily to ensure that health, safety and environment standards are both maintained and improved.
Norwich-born Adrian said: “My role involves liaising with all members of the Lovell team from all different departments, which gives me a great insight on how the business is operating. Every day is different, and I love being able to share my knowledge and supportive nature to the company.
“The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in our head office and construction sites closing for several weeks and the return to work has been a challenge to the company and everybody involved as a whole. There has needed to be a very different approach to how we now work, both in the office and especially on site to make it a safe and healthy place to work.
“The entire Lovell team has worked extremely well together since lockdown, with good communication throughout and great leadership within all departments. It’s a company that’s exciting to work for and one that will continue to grow.”
Before joining the industry, Adrian worked in a butcher’s, starting out at just 13-years-old. He said: “The butchery skills I learnt all those years ago are still being used today. Having a practical, working career before moving into the world of construction gave me a good understanding of how health and safety standards could be improved.”
Adrian is also an assistant scout leader for the 1st Spixworth Scout Group, where he teaches young scouts important life skills and cooks healthy, balanced meals for them whilst camping.
Simon Medler, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Adrian to the team. He is a great addition who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and we are looking forward to seeing him progress within the company.”
Adrian’s goals for the future are to continue to enhance his own knowledge in order to best support Lovell.
