Portable Space has secured a high-profile contract to supply converted shipping containers for a new seafront retail attraction in Felixstowe.
The company, based at Bacton, Suffolk will supply 16 converted shipping containers for Beach Street Felixstowe, next to Mannings Amusement Park, which will have 1,000 square metres of outlets such as street food and boutiques.
The shopping and leisure project, which will open this Summer, has been designed to use containers set in block paved ‘streets’ with pathways, seating and landscaping.

“Our in-depth experience and in-house skills in converting containers for a wide range of uses and sectors offered the customer a turnkey solution, from concept to completion.”
It is anticipated that regeneration of the resort area in Felixstowe will boost its appeal as a tourist destination, drive economic growth and create jobs.
Portable Space which is headquartered at Bacton, employs 45 people engaged in the hire and sale of portable storage and accommodation for a broad range of sectors including construction, education, defence, oil, gas and renewables and leisure.
