Sizewell C has awarded a major facilities management contract to a multinational firm – creating up to 400 jobs, most of which will be in Suffolk.
G4S is expanding its existing role at the nuclear power station project, where it already delivers security and medical services.
The new ten-year agreement will begin later this year, with an initial team of around 150 employees.
The contract will see G4S provide a wide range of services supporting the day-to-day operation of the project.
This will include hard services such as mechanical and electrical maintenance, building fabric maintenance, and general building maintenance as well as soft services such as cleaning, workforce locker management, helpdesk services and postal services.

“Delivering facilities management at this scale requires absolute precision and the highest safety standards – operational excellence that our teams have already proven through their daily performance at Hinkley Point C.
“A contract of this size is about more than keeping operations running seamlessly, it is a long-term commitment to the region.

Sizewell C’s second Annual Sustainability Report, published earlier this year, revealed the project had already invested nearly £5bn with more than 1,000 UK suppliers, including £1bn in Suffolk alone.
At peak construction, around a third of Sizewell C’s 7,900-strong on-site workforce, around 2,600 people, will come from East Anglia.
The project will also create 1,500 apprenticeships, including at least 540 in Suffolk.
